Shaken

Could not believe how bad I am.

I went to work, braving it all. Thinking I was gonna ace everything...next thing I knew, really could not do it.

When I first tried drawing blood, it was fine. And with more practice, it kinda got worse, but I've always had a steady hand.

Today, I could not stop my fingers from shaking. The second person was worse! I had to go to the bathroom to just be on my own...

Not too sure what to do..

from my understanding, u take blood samples from patients and analyse them, right?
how do approach your patient? are they conscious or unconscious kinds? after practice and practices, techically you may be good, like how u believe in yourself.
Do you talk to the patient? say a lil 'how's ur day' and giving them a warm smile? Smile not for them only but yourself too. It'll help you to relax. and the technique shall go on naturally.

Well, my patients are conscious. Yes, it is part of our training to greet patients warmly and talk to them to calm them down..I have no idea how it happened. I started very confidently and it just did not work.

I'm just totally shaken, and it's so hard to snap out of it..so disappointed in self..
